Well Term 3 is flying past and being Week 4 there's lots going on...
Firstly, a big thank you to those parents who came along to interviews last week! It was lovely to see some of you again and to meet some of you for the first time.
Here's what the kids are up to this week:
The Year 10s are completing their SET planning this week - due Wednesday! Check out the class page for more details.
Year 11s have the first draft of their Identity essay due on Wednesday. Check out the class page for more details.
Year 8s and 9s have just received the task sheets for their next assessment (due in Week 6), so they'll be busy this week starting the planning process. The Year 8s will be learning more about how to write a persuasive monologue and the Year 9s will be learning to write a radio interview script.
Also, our school Athletics Carnival is coming up on Friday (go Phoenix!), so no classes. It's always a great day and as usual the SRC will put on a BBQ.
Lastly, as always with this time of year there's a lot of illness floating around. If your child is away from school when assessment is due, please make sure they have a medical certificate and they complete an Assessment Extension form, which they can get from Student Services. If your child is worried about missing important information around assessment time due to illness, we can certainly organise a lunchtime catch up, or you or your child can contact me for work they can be doing while they're home sick. Don't forget to head to your child's class page too because there's always assessment information and weekly worksheets (for juniors) there that you can download.
That's all the news for now, enjoy the rest of the week!
